Printed in French, this 1915 color lithograph by Frank Brangwyn promises orphaned children a home, maternal tenderness, schooling in the countryside, a trade suited to each child, and the religion of their fathers. Brangwyn, a British painter born in Bruges, had close ties to Belgium, and the cemetery and lily imagery reflects the loss the war brought to Belgian families. The record also credits the United States Fuel Administration as sponsor, a detail worth noting given the poster's Belgian subject.
