Washington's municipal hospital for the indigent sick stood in the capital's southeast quadrant, and this 8 by 6 inch glass negative records it on March 16, 1915. The National Photo Company, a commercial studio that photographed the city's buildings and streets for printed views, made the exposure. The plate shows streaks and blemishes from the natural breakdown of its original coating, and the title comes from unverified data the company wrote on the negative sleeve, so the exact location should be checked against other sources.
