Published in the July 3, 1895, issue of *Puck*, this engraving is titled *Taking out the kinks*, a phrase that suggests a problem being smoothed away. The plate was engraved by Keppler & Schwarzmann, the firm that published *Puck*, after a drawing by F.M. Howarth. Its mix of satire and illustration drew a wide readership in the 1890s.
