Two men, E.E. Dudding and Dr. W.C. Murphy, are named in the title of this glass negative dated July 25, 1925. It comes from the National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C. commercial studio that photographed people and events in the capital in the early twentieth century. Herbert A. French gave the negatives to the Library of Congress in 1947. The names were recorded from information written on the negative or its sleeve and have not been independently verified. Faint streaks and blemishes across the plate reflect the natural deterioration of its original coatings.
