Among the magic posters on this board, this one stands out for its subject headings, which point to demons and a toasting routine, two unusual elements in a stage show built around Harry Kellar (1849-1922). Kellar was one of the leading American magicians of his day and a mentor to Harry Houdini. The poster was printed by the Strobridge Lithographing Company, a Cincinnati and New York firm known for large, brightly colored theatrical advertising. At 215 by 102 centimeters, it was built to be seen from a distance on city walls, where it would have drawn audiences to the performance.
