This sheet sets four church sections side by side in ink, wash, and graphite, and three of them carry the inscriptions "Federal Street" and "Octagon." The first points to the Federal Street Meeting House in Boston, which Charles Bulfinch designed around 1809. The drawings come from a sketchbook linked to Bulfinch, though the library has not firmly attributed the work to him. Dated between 1803 and 1827, the sheet reflects the Federal period, when architects in New England favored clear geometry, large windows, and tall interior spaces for congregations.
