A silkscreen poster from 1936 advertises *Help Yourself*, a farce by Paul Vulpius staged under the Federal theater Project's Popular Priced theater banner in New York. The project was part of the Works Progress Administration, the New Deal agency that put unemployed actors, writers, designers, and stagehands to work during the Depression. Its low ticket prices were meant to bring live theater to audiences who could rarely afford Broadway. The poster's bold flat colors and simple lettering reflect the Federal Art Project's silkscreen method, which made inexpensive, eye-catching notices for public performances.
