This lithograph addresses unmarried men directly, urging them to follow the "noble example" of the married men who had already enlisted for king and country. It was issued by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee in London in 1915, when Britain's army still needed far more volunteers than it had received. Printed by the Abbey Press in Westminster and numbered 120 in the committee's series, it shows how recruiters used public pressure and appeals to duty, not just patriotism, to draw men into the army.
