The Palace Rink team is named in this glass negative from the George Grantham Bain Collection, a group of news photographs made in Detroit and elsewhere. Indoor rinks of the early twentieth century hosted roller skating, ice skating, and team sports, and the Bain News Service, a New York agency, distributed images of such teams to newspapers. The title comes from the agency's own caption data, which was not independently verified, and the record gives no date. Glass negatives like this one preserve fine detail, so the players' uniforms and the setting can still be studied closely.
