Immanuel Baptist, on 16th Street Northwest in Washington, D.C., is the subject of this glass negative, made by the National Photo Company during its years documenting the capital in the early twentieth century. The company sold views of city buildings and streets to residents and visitors, and its large body of work is now a valuable record of Washington's everyday architecture. The date range and street address are estimates taken from neighboring negatives and the company's own notes, so they are not fully verified. Streaks and spots from the aging of the glass coating are also visible.
