A measured drawing sheet of the Old South Meeting House, paired here with a 1728 map of Boston, places the building within the town's street plan before its later fame. The meetinghouse was completed in 1729 for the Old South Church, and its large open interior made it the city's go-to site for public gatherings. Its best-known moment came on December 16, 1773, when several thousand colonists met there before the Boston Tea Party. The measured drawing records the building's proportions and construction, and the map shows the surrounding streets it was built among.
