Prince Henry of Prussia, brother of Kaiser Wilhelm II, and Alice Roosevelt, the President's daughter, appear together on a boat's deck in this glass negative. Henry toured the United States in early 1902, and Alice, then a teenager, was among the most photographed young women in the country, so their time together drew wide press attention. The Bain News Service made the negative, but the title rests on unverified caption data, so the exact date and setting remain uncertain.
