Randolph Scott, David Brian, and Phyllis Thaxter headline this c1951 Warner Bros. poster for *Fort Worth*, a Western named for the Texas city where much of its action takes place. Scott was among the most dependable stars of the postwar Western, and by 1951 he had built a long run of color horse operas that drew steady audiences. The poster's bold color and cowboy imagery reflect the studio's habit of selling these films on spectacle and star power. As a printed artifact, it shows how Hollywood marketed Westerns in the early 1950s.
