This view is of the Corcoran Building at the corner of 15th and F Streets NW, a name that links it to the banking and philanthropic family of William Wilson Corcoran, whose gallery stood a few blocks away. F Street was one of the city's busiest commercial corridors in the early 1900s, lined with offices, shops, and the stores that drew shoppers downtown. The print comes from the Washington studio of Leet, and its date is listed with a question mark, so the exact year is uncertain. Still, it offers a useful look at the street's architecture and street life during the period when downtown Washington was growing quickly.
