Abbot Reginald's gateway stands in Evesham, Worcestershire, beside the old vicarage, and it is one of the few visible reminders of the Benedictine abbey that once dominated the town. The abbey was dissolved in 1539 during the reign of Henry VIII, and much of its stonework was later lost or reused. This color view was made with the photochrom process, a Swiss method of producing vivid prints from photographs that was popular for travel views in the 1890s.
