Few pictures in the collection are tied this directly to a single film. The caption names *City Lights*, Charlie Chaplin's 1931 comedy, which he wrote, directed, produced and starred in. The print was made in 1964 from a photograph taken in 1931, the year the film came out, and its record also lists a locker room setting among its subjects. *City Lights* was released as a silent film with a synchronized score when most Hollywood pictures already had dialogue, which makes it one of the best-known holdouts from that transition.
