The title, *Hanami no en*, refers to a cherry-blossom viewing party, and this two-sheet woodcut is a vertical oban triptych panel dated to about 1862. The catalog classifies it as a Genji-e, a picture drawn from *The Tale of Genji*, the 11th-century court novel by Murasaki Shikibu that Edo-period printmakers returned to again and again. Inch-an Rigyoku signed the print on a man's garment, and Sakurai Kikujo signed it on a standing screen, so both artists' names are worth noting as you look at the detailing. The record also files the scene under Japanese domestic life in the 1860s, a late Edo period when courtly subjects and everyday scenes were both being produced.
