The crowd here is waiting outside the gates of Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, where a sign reading "Hot dogs" points to the food sellers working the line. The photograph is dated October 6, 1920, a period when the Brooklyn Robins drew large weekday and autumn crowds to the park, which Charlie Ebbets built in 1913.
