Vice President Calvin Coolidge poses with a group of boys in this glass negative dated March 22, 1922, though the title comes from unverified National Photo Company data. Coolidge was serving under President Warren G. Harding, and he held the vice presidency until Harding's death in August 1923 made him president. The National Photo Company, a Washington studio, recorded officials and events, and this plate came to the Library of Congress as a gift from Herbert A. French in 1947. Streaks and blemishes on the glass come from natural deterioration of the original coating, not from the scene itself.
