Cabins at Redstone Park stood in the southern Sierra Nevada, in an area that is now part of Sequoia National Forest and drew summer visitors seeking mountain air. The record spells the county "Tulane," though the location is in Tulare County. The National Photo Company, a commercial firm whose photographers traveled widely in the early 1900s making views of scenic and tourist destinations for sale, made the negative. Its date is given only as a range, so the exact year is uncertain, but it falls in the years when the forest was newly established and mountain resorts were growing. Faint streaks on the glass come from the natural breakdown of the original coating.
