A perspective rendering, an architectural drawing that shows how a structure would look once built, is an unusual subject for this board, which is otherwise full of photographs of the Library's buildings. This copy is a heliotype, a photomechanical process that made inexpensive reproductions of drawings and images in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It is catalogued as a reference copy in the Prints and Photographs Division. The Library's buildings were planned through presentation drawings like this one, so the sheet shows how architects once sold a design before construction began.
