This sheet pairs a perspective rendering, which shows a building as it would appear from a chosen viewpoint, with a plan of its first and second stories, so one page conveys both appearance and layout. Architects used such combined sheets to explain a design to clients and builders. The Library of Congress holds this example in its Architecture, Design and Engineering drawings collection. It survives as a photomechanical print, a mechanically reproduced copy of an original drawing, a method that let one design circulate to many recipients.
