Advertising outdoor exhibitions of children's paintings, sculpture and prints across the five boroughs, this WPA silkscreen poster names Brooklyn in its title and features a bold, flat-colored cow. Produced by the Federal Art Project in New York between 1936 and 1941, it reflects the program's effort to bring art into parks and public spaces during the Depression. Silkscreen let artists print vivid posters in quantity at low cost, and a March 24, 1941 date stamped on the back shows it was still in circulation near the end of the period.
