A drawbridge in Tokyo and the foreign visitors who crossed it are the subjects this sheet is catalogued under. The artist, Isoda Koryūsai, was active from the 1760s to the 1780s, which does not match the 1750 date in the record, so the sheet's age deserves checking against other sources. The subject headings point to the second half of the nineteenth century, when the city was still called Edo until 1868 and foreign visitors were becoming a familiar sight in its streets.
