Titled *Clarissa* on the strength of a dealer's invoice, this 1961 lithograph is by Larry Rivers, the American painter known for combining figurative subjects with a loose, gestural hand. The sheet is a second state, signed and dated in pencil and numbered 5 of 15 in its edition. Its blind stamp points to Universal Limited Art Editions, the Long Island workshop that produced lithographs with many postwar painters, and the Pennell Fund indicates the Library acquired it through that gift fund. Because these details come from an older caption card, the title and some identifying marks should be read as provisional.
