A kiss between a bride and groom gives this stereograph card its subject, and its title, "Sealing their bliss," makes that moment the point of the scene. Issued by the Sterro-Photo Co. of Dolgeville, New York, around 1907, it belongs to a large run of sentimental cards made for the stereoscope, a parlor viewer that combined two slightly offset photographs into a single image with depth. Scenes like this were popular entertainment in the early twentieth century, and their posed, lighthearted treatment of courtship and marriage shows what viewers of the period expected from the form.
