Invited guests are shown on their way to a Roosevelt house in September 1908, some on foot and others in carriages. The record does not say which house or what occasion, and the title comes from caption data the Bain News Service supplied without verification. The glass negative comes from George Grantham Bain's news agency, which sold pictures of public figures and events to newspapers in the early 1900s. In 1908 Theodore Roosevelt was in the last year of his presidency, when his gatherings drew steady press attention.
