Guests walking and riding in carriages make their way toward Roosevelt House in this September 1908 glass negative from the Bain News Service. The title comes from caption data the agency recorded, which has not been independently verified, so the specific house and occasion remain unconfirmed. Bain's service supplied news photographs to newspapers in the early twentieth century, and this scene shows how invited visitors still traveled on foot and by horse-drawn carriage before automobiles became common on city streets.
