Delilah handing Samson over to the Philistines is the subject here, the scene from Judges 16 in which Samson's betrayal follows Delilah's discovery that his strength lies in his hair. The print is a chiaroscuro woodcut cut by N. Boldrini after a composition by Tiziano Vecelli, known as Titian. Chiaroscuro woodcuts printed light and shadow from several blocks, a method that suited the strong contrasts of Titian's work. The sheet is folded vertically through the center and carries a Bradley Collection mark on the verso.
