Issued in November 1903 under the title "Thanksgiving," this color poster pairs the holiday with a western sunset. The Passenger Department of the Southern Pacific published it in San Francisco as an illustration for *Sunset Magazine*, which the railroad had founded in 1898 to promote travel and settlement in the West. Printed by the Sunset Press, the piece shows how the railroad used attractive pictures to present the region as a place worth visiting and settling.
