Napa Creek, which runs through Napa County in north-central California, is the subject of this half of a stereograph, catalogued as number 762 in a series called *Gems of California Scenery*. Albumen prints like this one were mounted on card and viewed through a stereoscope, which fused two slightly offset images into a single three-dimensional scene. The Library holds only one half of the original pair, so that depth effect is not available here.
