Ralph O. Brewster, who had taken office as governor of Maine earlier that year, is the subject of this glass negative dated April 22, 1925. It came from the National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., studio that recorded politicians and public life in the 1910s and 1920s. Herbert A. French gave the negative to the Library of Congress in 1947. Faint streaks and blemishes are visible, the result of natural deterioration in the original coatings.
