Advertising a series of Des Moines public forums under the question "What's Right with America," this poster names Bonaro Wilkinson Overstreet as a featured speaker. Its designers, the Iowa Art Program under the Federal Art Project, were part of the Works Progress Administration, which employed artists during the Great Depression. Silkscreen let them print inexpensive, bright posters in quantity for community events, and the forum's upbeat title reflects a 1930s push to debate democracy and the nation's future in public. A 1941 date stamp on the back suggests the poster stayed in circulation for years after it was made.
