Shown as plate 5 in *A Modern City*, a set of designs by the French architect Rob Mallet-Stevens, this color lithograph depicts a bridge within an imagined modern city. London's Benn Brothers issued the book in 1922, bringing the work of a Paris-based designer to English readers while modernist architecture was still gaining wider attention. Mallet-Stevens was known for clean geometric forms and reinforced concrete, and his urban visions of the early 1920s helped shape later ideas about the planned city. The print preserves how such ambitious proposals were presented to the public at the time.
