This lithograph, titled "Banque" (bank), is a color plate from Rob Mallet-Stevens's *A Modern City*, where it appears as plate 2. Published in London by Benn Brothers in 1922, it presents a bank as a freestanding modern building, with the clean geometry and open surfaces that defined the French architect's work. Mallet-Stevens was a leading figure in the modernist and Art Deco-era architecture of the 1920s, and his city designs were influential in showing how public buildings such as banks might fit into a planned urban landscape.
