Little is recorded about this glass negative beyond its title, "S.A.R.," and the date, May 30, 1922. The title comes from data the National Photo Company wrote on the negatives or their sleeves, and it has not been verified, so the initials remain unexplained. May 30 was the customary date for Memorial Day in that period, so the picture may record a commemoration, though that is only a guess. The plate also shows streaks and blemishes from the natural deterioration of its original coating, which is worth noticing when you examine the image.
