A portrait of Mrs. Clyde Kelly, the wife of Pennsylvania congressman Clyde Kelly, dated June 1922 in the record. The National Photo Company, which operated in Washington, D.C., from the 1910s into the 1930s, made many such studio and sitting portraits of officials and their families during that era. The glass plate was donated to the Library of Congress in 1947 by Herbert A. French. Viewers may notice streaks and blemishes, which come from the natural breakdown of the original emulsion coatings on the glass.
