Fred Astaire is the performer this poster puts first, advertising the 1948 MGM musical *Easter Parade*, which cast him opposite Judy Garland after Gene Kelly was injured during rehearsals. The score is Irving Berlin's, and its title song, first written for the 1933 Broadway revue *As Thousands Cheer*, became a springtime standard. Studio posters of this kind were designed to sell a star and a score together, so the color artwork and billing carry much of the film's appeal. The sheet itself does not name its printer, which was common for studio material of the period.
