Numbered 49 of 140, this color lithograph is a later reprint of the poster for *The Wizard of Oz*, MGM's 1939 Technicolor adaptation of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel. The catalog ties the film to Judy Garland's performance as Dorothy, the role that made her a star. The film's shift from sepia Kansas to color Oz is one of its best-known effects. Reprints like this one were issued after the original release, so the sheet also shows how the picture stayed in circulation through the 1940s.
