Cars lined up for a parade in a small Arkansas town, possibly Stuttgart, make this a view of a moment when the automobile was still a novelty in rural America. The catalog's place name carries a question mark, so the town is not fully confirmed. Around 1910, motorcars were rare outside cities, and a procession of them drew crowds of townspeople who came out to see the machines and the drivers. The photograph is worth a close look for its record of early roads, dress, and local civic life.
