This glass negative shows a 1919 football game involving a team listed as Tech High, though the title comes from unverified notes the National Photo Company wrote on the negative or its sleeve. The Washington, D.C., studio made a large body of work recording city life, schools, and sports in the early twentieth century. Blemishes and streaks across the surface reflect natural deterioration of the original coatings, which is common in glass plates of this age. Herbert A. French gave the negative to the Library of Congress in 1947.
