Few pictures here show a president at a university sporting event, and this one is labeled Hoover at G.U., Navy game, November 9, 1929. Hoover had taken office earlier that year, and the National Photo Company, a Washington studio, recorded many public appearances by officials and local events during this period. The title comes from the company's own notes and has not been independently verified, and the glass shows streaks and surface wear from age.
