This c1876 print promotes a travel route, touting a single line via Niagara Falls and the Suspension Bridge that spans the gorge below the falls. Designed by Charles Ellet Jr. and opened in 1855, the bridge carried trains and carriages on a deck hung from wire cables, and it served as a key rail link between the United States and Canada. Advertising pieces like this one were meant to persuade travelers that one line offered the most convenient way to see the falls. The maker is recorded only as Clay, Cosack & Co. on an unverified shelflist card, so attribution remains uncertain.
