Radio manufacturer A. Atwater Kent, whose receivers were among the best-known sets of the 1920s, appears here with his wife and daughters in a family portrait dated about 1925. The image is a glass negative from the National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., studio that recorded public figures and everyday life in the early twentieth century. The record describes the title as unverified and the date as inferred from neighboring negatives, so the identification rests on the studio's original labeling. Faint streaks and blemishes on the glass come from natural deterioration of its coating over time.
