Bradenton, on Florida's Gulf Coast, is the setting here, and the scene shows workers gathering oranges by hand in one of the citrus groves that once made the region famous. The card was issued by the Keystone View Company of Meadville, Pennsylvania, a firm that sold stereographs for home viewers through the early twentieth century, and this example dates from about 1926. Pairing two slightly offset images gave the picking scene a three-dimensional depth when viewed through a stereoscope, which was a popular parlor entertainment of the era.
