A three-act musical farce, *The Four Mortons Breaking into Society*, is advertised in this 1905 color lithograph, presented by Percy G. Williams, a New York theater and vaudeville man. Gus Edwards, a prolific composer of popular stage songs, wrote the music, and Lee Arthur and Robert B. Smith wrote the play. The sheet was printed by the U.S. Lithograph Co. and the Russell-Morgan Print firm of Cincinnati and New York, which reflects how theatrical advertising of the period was produced in quantity for touring companies and theater houses. The printed caption, "Who said A.P.A.?", is part of the design, though the record does not explain what it refers to.
