Bull Street is one of the best-known thoroughfares in Savannah, Georgia, laid out as part of the city's original plan in the 1730s and lined with live oaks and squares that still define its character. The scene shows a tree-lined avenue with figures strolling along it, a reminder that the street was built for walking, shade, and public life as much as for traffic. Savannah's planners designed a grid of open squares, and Bull Street runs through many of them, which gave the city its distinctive rhythm of green spaces. Look at the canopy and the people below it to see how the street functioned as a shared civic promenade.
