Whitehall Street was one of the busy retail streets in downtown Atlanta, and this view shows its shops lining a street shared with streetcar tracks. The print is a photogravure, a process that produced fine tonal detail, and it was issued as an illustration in *Souvenir of Atlanta, Georgia*, a viewbook sold to visitors and local boosters. Atlanta was growing quickly in the early 1900s, and images like this one present the city as a bustling commercial center served by electric streetcars.
