Times House at 1818 Corcoran Street is a single, specific address in Washington, D.C., so the picture documents one building rather than a broad street view. It survives as a glass negative from the National Photo Company, a commercial firm that photographed the city's streets and buildings around 1919 and 1920, when Washington was growing quickly. Herbert A. French gave the negative to the Library of Congress in 1947. The glass shows streaks and blemishes from the original coatings breaking down over time, which is worth noting when judging the image.
