Rather than a famous landmark, this glass negative records a specific address on 14th Street in Washington, D.C., labeled Times House. The title comes from notes made by the National Photo Company and has not been independently verified. The company was a commercial firm that photographed the city's streets, buildings and businesses in the early twentieth century, and its negatives give a sense of everyday Washington around 1919 or 1920. Look closely at the faint streaks and blemishes on the glass, which the record attributes to natural deterioration of the original coating.
